Creating an index in an HTML page

Q. How do I create an index in a long HTML page?

A. If you have a long HTML page, it is possible to insert a list of topics (an ‘index’) at the top of the page, which links each topic to a header ('anchor') further down the page. You can build index topics by using the text editor, but anchors can only be inserted by editing the underlying HTML code.
