Search - How to make new course content available for searching
Q. How do I enable recently-added course content to be available to the Search tool?
A. Within your course, click Search on the course navigation menu and then scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Click the 'three dots' menu.
Click Reindex Course.
New content added to a Canvas course is usually available for searching immediately. Active courses are also re-indexed automatically by the system every ten hours. Nevertheless, you can elect to reindex your course at any time, as shown above.
Note: Even though new content is indexed immediately, some events (such as publishing or unpublishing content) are not immediately available to the Search tool. The 'Last indexed' message reflects only the last time the entire course was indexed by the system.
