Ways for students to see feedback
A brief account of how students can locate feedback on their assignments, depending in part on what comment features are used.
Where students can view their Assignment feedback
- In Assignment notifications - students will receive a notification that they have received feedback and feedback will also appear within their To Do list.
- Grades - students can browse all their grades across modules when they go into the Grades tab - although do remember this is only for their formative assessment. Once there, students should select their Assignment and click on view feedback.
Note: Students do not see the same full Speedgrader interface as staff; they can view feedback for submissions they have made.
If the assignment was set up to be Turnitin-enabled, students need to click on the small coloured icon (flag) to see their Turnitin report. Students may be referred to further information on submitting and accessing feedback on Turnitin-enabled assignments Links to an external site..
Canvas student app
- Students can view their feedback within the Canvas student app.
- Key difference for students within app is that if they view text within an Assignment or Discussion which has been annotated by a teacher - and is therefore underlined - then if they simply tap on the text, the teacher's comment will load.
