(For Admins) Report generation, analytics and statistics
Account-level admins have access to Canvas reports that can be used to review account data. In order to access this data, you will need to run a report.
- The usefulness of such reports depends on how your course has been designed and built. The analytics offered by Canvas are based on activity with the VLE; therefore, if you are not using it extensively for online activities, the results give may not be an accurate reflection of teaching and learning in the course.
- In particular, the University does not support summative assessment on Canvas. Thus, any data regarding grades will reflect only formative assessment, so while this will be of interest, it will not feed into students' final marks or degree classification.
- Please contact a learning technologist if you need to discuss use of reports and analytics in Canvas in greater depth.
