Q. How do I use the 'Sign-up Tool' to sign up to an event, or cancel my time slot?

A. The following instructions detail how to sign up to (or change) a time slot for a tutorial (or other meeting) set up by your tutor or course admin person. Note that your event will appear in your personal Canvas calendar (and will be updated there, if anything changes).

The Sign-up tool is embedded in the Assignments tool. It may be presented either via the Assignments tool, or the Modules tool on the left hand navigation menu, depending on the course design.

Logging In

Navigate to Canvas and login with your normal Single Sign-on (SSO) (or external email address, if you don't have an Oxford SSO account).
Select Dashboard from the Global Navigation Bar.
Select the appropriate course from the Dashboard.
Select either Assignments or Modules from the Course Navigation Menu (depending on the course design).

Signing up

Any available sign-up events will be listed for you to sign-up.

Click on the event title, then select the slot you would like to sign-up to, by selecting the 'Sign up' button.

Once sign-up has been completed you will see confirmation against the appropriate slot.

Note: You can only sign up for one slot in a particular event.

You will receive an email confirmation message, and the booking will appear in your personal Canvas calendar.

At any time, you may return to the Sign-up event and use the Withdraw button if you need to cancel your booked slot. To change your slot, withdraw from the booked slot, and then sign up to a different slot (if an alternative one is available).
